Ashwin Chandran, Chairman, SIMA has appreciated and thanked the Hon’ble Prime Minister, and other ministers for the bold decision of removing the anti-dumping duty on viscose staple fibre.

The industry has been pleading the government to remove anti-dumping duty of USD 0.103 to 0. 512 per kg imposed on the VSF during the last several years, which is under active consideration

President NITMA, Sanjay Garg pleads for quick notification on ADD on Viscose Spun Yarn originating from Indonesia, Vietnam and China, as recommended by DGTR vide its notification dated 30the December 2020.

Sanjay Garg, president, North Indian Textile Mills’ Association, hailed the recommendation of DGTR to levy anti-dumping duty on viscose spun yarn. Garg also urged to levy anti-dumping duty on polyester spun yarn.

The National Committee on Textiles & Clothing (NCTC) appealed the Prime Minister to remove Anti-Dumping Duty (ADD) on Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF) and address the VSF spun yarn availability and price issues to prevent job losses.
