The registration for the International Apparel Federation’s (IAF) 33rd World Fashion Convention, which will take place from 16-18 October 2017 in Rio de Janeiro, is now open. Delegates who register before 1 August, will be able to register against a highly reduced price. In addition, members of IAF will benefit from a lower admission price, organisers report.
This year, the IAF will host the convention in Rio de Janeiro, along with the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (ABIT). Founded in 1957, one of the most important industry associations in Brazil, it represents an industry which directly employs 1.5 million people, generating an annual revenue of $40 billion (2015).
The theme of this edition is Compliance and Technology – Key Drivers for Industry and Retail. The Convention has the function of informing, inspiring and providing a meeting platform for apparel executives from all continents. National and international speakers will present and discuss responsible business conduct (labour, social, environmental, legal), as well as technological megatrends and their possible impacts on the production and distribution chain.
