The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has raised India’s cotton export forecast in April 2016 on account of increased demand form Pakistan. India’s exports are boosted 250,000 bales to 5.8 million on strong demand, especially from Pakistan, USDA said in its latest report. “Strong textile exports, especially of apparel and bed wear, have forced Pakistan’s textile sector to look to imported cotton, especially from India, to make up for a significantly smaller crop,” according to the report.

Sales of air and fluid filters in the US will expand 3.8 per cent per annum to $9.7 billion in 2020. Advances will be fueled by a positive economic outlook, including continued strength in manufacturing activity and construction expenditures, as well as by increasing consumer preoccupation with domestic indoor air quality and tap water purity. Teijin Limited has announced it will expand Technora para-aramid fibre production by 10 per cent through increasing capacity in Teijin’s Matsuyama Factory. Construction begins this June at a cost of 1.5 billion JPY, with operation slated to begin from October 2017.
