KCT organises workshop on woven CAD

KCT-TIFAC CORE in Textile Technology & Machinery of Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore jointly with the Department of Fashion Technology organised a short-term training programme on ´Woven CAD´ on August 7 at KCT, exclusively for the benefit of students from textile institutions, technicians working in weaving industry, designers working in apparel industries.

About 25 students and few faculty members participated in the programme. The participants were taught on various fundamental aspects of woven CAD, using wonder weaves software installed at KCT-TIFAC CORE advanced research centre for textile technology and machinery, a project under the Department of Science and Technology.

Dr G Ramakrishnan, Coordinator of KCT-TIFAC CORE, gave a warm welcome to all participants and highlighted on facilities established at KCT-TIFAC CORE. Dr J Srinivasan, Professor & Head, Department of Fashion Technology, delivered the presidential address. Principal, KCT Dr RS Kumar sent his message and urged the students to utilise the platform for improving their skills.

S Sathyaraj of C-CUBE Technologies spoke on the usefulness of wonder weave software and trained the students on various aspects of woven fabric designing.

K Gopinath, SSO, TIFAC CORE gave vote of thanks. Certificates were distributed to all the participants of the workshop. R Krishnaveni, S Velusamy, KCT-TIFAC CORE demonstrated all the machinery and equipment in KCT-TIFAC CORE laboratories.
