Vipul Organics specialty chemicals company in the pigments and dyes segment. Today, it is amongst the foremost manufacturers of pigments, dyestuff, lake colours and pigment intermediaries / fast salts in the country. It has 3 manufacturing facilities spread across Maharashtra and has global footprint in over 50 countries. Mihir Shah, Executive Director at Vipul Organics, in an interview with Divya Shetty, outlines the company’s product offering and upcoming expansion initiatives.
Vipul Organics has been a leader in the production of Naphthols for textile dyeing. Can you elaborate on the versatility and applications of Naphthols in achieving vibrant and long-lasting colours?
We are one of the pioneers and leaders in some unique products in textile industry such as Napthols, Fast bases and Fast Salts which is used for African prints, Batik prints. This technology is fading in India but is a unique printing technology which gives much enhanced and bright prints as compared to the traditional Reactive/ Direct dyes. This is the reason why there are several pockets across the globe who still prefer to dye the garment with our Napthols/ Fast Bases over dyes. For the Indonesian market we have the largest market share for this series of products. In India our brand SunThol is very famous and is available since last 50 years.
The textile dyeing industry is witnessing transformative changes driven by sustainability and advanced technologies. How is Vipul Organics adapting to these trends, and what innovations are you implementing to stay ahead?
Our product development team is continuously working on sustainable products to reduce carbon footprint in all field of applications. Efforts to reduce effluent load, conserve water, time, and energy, and reducing lead time to produce finished goods with Right First Time (RFT) quality has always been at the core of our efforts.
From this, our ‘Concept of Packages’ has evolved. We have created the following;
Soft Silk Printing Package: This is developed as an effective alternative for reactive dyeing, avoiding ager and washing off process, without compromising on quality. The product does not look faded even after subjecting to home laundry test. Advantage is huge: Savings in process time, water, energy, man hours, easily reproducible and Reduced carbon footprint.
Dry Discharge Printing Package: This is developed as a substitute for wet discharge printing. Avoids ageing and washing. Advantage is a simplified process, easily reproducible, no odour, saves time, water and man hours.
With the global textile dye market projected to grow significantly, what strategies is Vipul Organics employing to capitalize on this expansion and meet the increasing demand?
We act as a one stop solution for textile consumers offering products across several verticals covering the entire product ranges of pigments in powder, dispersion and emulsion forms and dyes, naphthols, fast colour vases and fast colour salts applicable in the various segments and catering almost all industries such a textile, paints coatings, ink, paper, leather industries.
All these products act as huge value addition resulting in saving time, water, man hours, simplifying processes and utilities whilst complying with global norms.
How is Vipul Organics addressing environmental concerns in dye production, and what steps are you taking to promote eco-friendly dyeing processes?
We don’t let in any of the banned substances enter our organisational premises. Each step is a system made to reduce redundancy, operated with optimised resources and automated processes that help reduce environmental impact in manufacturing with ‘Zero Waste’. Every possible step is taken to reduce pollution, pollutants and usage of recyclable goods is given due importance in the entire value chain.
Can you discuss any recent technological advancements or quality control measures Vipul Organics has implemented to enhance the performance and safety of your dyes and pigments?
Our differentiation surfaces from customer needs. Each product is tailor made to provide a solution to an issue/requirement. This art of customisation and troubleshooting has earned us a solid reputation as a dependable brand. The futuristic approach has taken us a notch above the rest. Our proficiency to excel every time, meeting high end customer needs helps us to stay ahead of competition. An insightful team with a ‘Never say die’ attitude has made us deliver, where others fail to seize the opportunity.
Looking ahead, what are Vipul Organics’ future plans ?
We have installed a new state-of-the-art R&D laboratory and are installing one more manufacturing unit to support the growing demand from textile sectors. Sales and service personnel count is being gradually increased to have a strong network of teams. We shall venture into new untapped potential markets, keep launching new sustainable products and increase our business partners to grow exponentially.
