K42 machine helps Rieter spin success

At the heavily-crowded Rieter stall at ITME 2016, all the top brass were busy with their hectic schedule, and Joachim Maier, Head Marketing, Business Group, Rieter Machines & Systems, could spare some moments to talk informally with the Editor of The ITJ.

Excerpts:

ITJ Editor: Rieter had a commendable performance in India since last year. Which are the machines & systems that contributed to this success?

Joachim Maier: Compact spinning is the topic of everyday in India. The K42 machine has done well in a market like India. Rieter has sold 5 million spindles of this compact machine. This is the key to our success. In a country like India where energy plays a key role, compact systems of Rieter can save energy to the tune of 25 per cent, and hence this adds to our success. We have machines with up to 25,000 spindles, which is the maximum available today. High productivity is also behind the success of Rieter systems.

ITJ Editor: Can you give some details of the OE spinning systems?

Joachim Maier: We have launched at India-ITME a new semi-automatic spinning machine. The R 36 semi-automic rotor spinning machine with the latest spinning technology and easy operation is the solution to achieving economical production. Thanks to automated spinning (ASI), after a power outage it can run again by a simple press of the start button. With the new S 36 spin box, spinning stability is increased further; in addition, it enables better yarn quality through optimized fiber flow. With 600 spinning units, the R 36 is the longest machine in its class.

ITJ Editor: What are the major systems on show at ITME & their USPs?

Joachim Maier: Rieter is showing the K 42 compact spinning machine and the G 32 ring spinning machine with EliTe®. The learning system Rieter "UPtime" Solutions, which supports the preventive maintenance of plants and Rieter is exhibiting the new single head drawer frames generation RSB-D 50 and the R 36 semi-automatic rotor spinning machine. Rieter also is displaying a wide range of technology components under the Bräcker, Graf, Novibra and Suessen trademarks, including the energy-saving spindle LENA by Novibra, which has already established itself very successfully in the market. An innovation in the after-sales area is the Q-Package, a package for improving yarn quality in existing plants.

ITJ Editor: What are their USPs?

Joachim Maier: High productivity and quality level.

In the new RSB-D 50 single-head draw frame generation, the patented ECOrized drive technology along with an innovative autoleveller and fiber guiding system enable an increase in delivery speed of up to 33 per cent. The new coiler CLEANcoil-PES extends the cleaning cycle on critical polyester fibres by 100 per cent.

The Rieter compact spinning systems Com4®compact and EliTe® are unique and are the most successful systems in the segment worldwide. A total of more than 13 million compact spindles by Rieter are already being deployed by customers. The K 42 requires only about 25 per cent of the compacting energy necessary with comparable solutions.
