The integration embeds primary supply chain sustainability data into the platform where brands and suppliers already discover and manage materials.
Green Story, a leading textile environmental intelligence company, announced a partnership with Frontier, the AI-powered material digitisation and management platform used widely across the fashion and textile industry.
The partnership integrates Green Story’s environmental assessments into Frontier’s platform, giving brands and suppliers access to facility-specific sustainability data at the point where material sourcing decisions are made.
Data built from the ground up
Green Story’s environmental assessments are built on primary information, collected directly from suppliers and manufacturing facilities across 34 countries. Every data point reflects how and where a product was actually made, supported by one of the most recognised textile lifecycle assessment systems in the industry.
The company’s AI-driven, expert led methodology processes, validates and contextualises this data at scale, ensuring that the environmental information surfaced through Frontier is both scientifically rigorous and operationally relevant.
“Most sustainability data in fashion arrives too late to shape a material decision,” said Akhil Sivanandan, Co-Founder and CEO of Green Story. “Our work has always been about building environmental intelligence that reflects reality, primary data from facilities, assessed by experts who understand textile manufacturing from the inside. This partnership with Frontier puts that intelligence exactly where it belongs: in the room where materials are being chosen.”
Embedding sustainability into material sourcing
Environmental data from Green Story will be accessible within the same workflows where materials are already being sourced, digitised and evaluated on Frontier’s platform. The integration enables brands to factor environmental performance into material selection alongside technical specifications, pricing and availability.
“Frontier exists to scale physical materials into intelligent data which brands can actually use. Nowadays fabric decisions happen fast, however, environmental data has always played catch-up. By bringing Green Story’s facility-level intelligence directly into Frontier, we’re closing that gap. Brands and suppliers can now see the full picture of a material the moment they’re evaluating it, not after the decision is already made “

Supporting the industry’s regulatory transition
The partnership addresses growing regulatory and market demands for product-level environmental transparency. The EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), Digital Product Passport requirements, and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) are establishing new expectations for verifiable, data-backed sustainability disclosure across the fashion value chain.
Access to credible environmental data at the material selection stage provides brands and suppliers with a practical foundation for meeting these evolving requirements.
