Four textile parks shut down in Vietnam due to Covid

The pandemic situation
has adversely affected industries and workers in Vietnam. According to the
reports, four industrial parks Van Trung, Quang Chau, Dinh Tram, and Song Khe –
Noi Hoang have been shut down in Bac Giang.

According to the
Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the total number of infected workers
was 466 out of which 369 were in the northern province. As per Nguyen Van Thoi,
Chairman, Apparel manufacturer TNG Investment and Trading JSC, the company has
taken funds to buy vaccines for the safety of its workers. He also wants the
government to connect with the suppliers. To add, he said that the workers are
following preventive measures in the factory and the workers who come from
severely affected locations are asked to stay at home.

According to the
chief of a textile firm in Hung Yen Province, the government should accept
funding from various sources so that all the people can be vaccinated.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, textile and
garment exports saw a rise of 9% in the first quarter of 2021.
