Dark clouds that have gathered over cotton, the once-white-gold, are yet to disperse. Rising stock, falling price, China’s detrimental policies, agricultural crisis and boom in synthetics are sending shock waves across nations, more so in India.

Europe still dominates in textile technology, but India is no laggard. It has created its own niche. With 158 exhibitors at the present ITMA 2015, Indian textile machinery and spares industry has come a long way to spread its wings since 1975 when at the same Milan, India fielded a lone exhibitor. An ITJ Report previews the current scenario.

ITMA 2015 will be held at the Fiera Milano Rho from 12 to 19 November 2015, which will showcase end-to-end solutions for the entire textile and garment making chain. The exhibition has a gross size of over 2,00,000 sq m and over 1,500 exhibitors from 47 economies promise to launch innovations galore.
