Tunisia is swelling the ranks of manufacturers of fashion products at Apparel Sourcing Paris for the first time. Also for the first time, this trade fair for manufacturers of men’s, women’s and children’s ready-to-wear clothes is thus offering a short circuit, a fast alternative and multiple specific skills, for which some visitors have been hungering.

Occupying its own pavilion, Tunisia, which is the EU’s fifth- (and France’s second-) largest supplier, and in which 80% of businesses active in the textile industry specialise in ready-to-wear, offers a range of solutions for almost comprehensive sourcing close to home, thanks to eight companies working in the mid- and top of the range. Under the auspices of Tunisia Export/CEPEX and used to working with European countries — mainly France and Italy, but also Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and others — they make up a genuine community of skills in knits, ready-to-wear, jeans, lingerie and beachwear. They are a preferred short-circuit partner, offering short production runs, restocking, updating and fast fashion.

Tunisia has become an indispensable partner of the Apparel Sourcing trade fair thanks to a programme of promotions and industry information with itself at the centre:

  • «Fashion by Tunisia» fashion show 10 February at 14.00 hrs & 11 February at 11.30 hrs, show venue, hall 2

  • Economic seminar, 10 February at 14.30 hrs: Tunisia’s textile industry: a centre of excellence for intelligent sourcing (with His Excellency Mohamed Ali Chihi, Tuni- sian Ambassador to France, Abdellatif Hamam, CEO of CEPEX, the Centre for Export Promotion, Nafâa Ennaï-fer, , Vice-President of FENATEX, the National Federation of Textiles, various European clients and Jean-François Limantour, President of Cercle Euro-Méditerranéen des Dirigeants du Dirigeants du Textile et de l’Habillement ( CEDITH)).

  • A raffle will run throughout the entire fair, with holidays in Tunisia to be won.

Tunisia’s criteria of quality, management, ability to react, competitiveness and ability to deliver and adapt easily to sourcing problems experienced by international clients make Tunisia a key player on the Mediterranean Rim.
