The proposed collaboration envisions the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop advanced textile products using fibre innovations such as linen-inspired cottonised jute, hemp, and linseed blends.

Trident Group is advancing its commitment to sustainable textile innovation through a proposed strategic collaboration with ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology (ICAR-NINFET), Kolkata. The initiative aims to accelerate the commercialisation of next-generation natural fibre-based home textile products. Dr Nemai Chandra Ray, Functional Head, Fibre and Yarn, Trident Group, met with the Director of ICAR-NINFET, Dr D B Shakyawar, and engaged with the leadership and scientific team to explore synergies in research, technology development, and industrial application. The discussions reinforced Trident’s focus on harnessing the growing global demand for sustainable natural fibres and translating innovative concepts into scalable, market-ready solutions.

The proposed collaboration envisions the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop advanced textile products using fibre innovations such as linen-inspired cottonised jute, hemp, and linseed blends. By combining ICAR-NINFET’s research expertise with Trident Group’s robust manufacturing capabilities, product development strengths, and global market presence, the partnership aims to enhance the commercial viability of eco-friendly home textile offerings. Trident Group will play a pivotal role in driving industrial application and market integration, leveraging its leadership in home textiles to bring sustainable fibre innovations to both domestic and international markets. The initiative aligns with the company’s broader vision of embedding sustainability into its core operations while enhancing product value and competitiveness.

The collaboration will focus on advancing fibre processing techniques, including cottonisation, blending, spinning, weaving, and finishing, to create high-value and environmentally responsible textile solutions. It is expected to contribute to the development of a resilient natural fibre ecosystem, promote sustainable alternatives, and strengthen India’s position in global textile exports. Aligned with national priorities such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and green industrial growth, this partnership underscores Trident Group’s continued efforts to drive innovation-led sustainable development in the textile sector.
