New Delhi

Recently, Piyush Goyal, the Commerce & Industry Minister, launched the DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) mobile application through an online video conference. This app is designed to provide instant access for importers and exporters of the country and will make it easy to do business.

The Commerce & Industry Minister mentioned that trade-related processes have for long been cumbersome and time-consuming. With this app, traders can get any information they want, with the touch of a button. This app will make it easy for doing business and grow internationally too.

With the launch of the DGFT Trade Facilitation App, there will now be an omnichannel for accessing all kinds of trade-related processes and make enquiries with the touch of a button. The minister further added that this application is in accordance with the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘minimum government, maximum governance’.

He also explained that the application will be a symbol of ‘Aatmanirbharta’ – India’s vision for making the country self-reliant. According to Goyal, following are the features of the new Trade Facilitation App:

– Updates on real-time trade policies and export and import policies
– Notifications and daily alerts
– Real-time status alerts on application statuses
– Tracking IEC portfolios including applications and authorizations
– 24*7 AI-based assistance
– Ability to access Your Trade Dashboard anytime, anywhere
– Ability to share public notices and trade notices easily

The Commerce & Industry Minister added that this app will open up international trading opportunities for MSME and foreign players. It will ensure the domestic trading industry gets more quality conscious and cost-effective. The app will ensure the government’s target of $1 trillion export value by 2025 and a GDP target of $5 trillion is met easily.

The app has been created by the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and can be downloaded from https://dgft.gov.in. It is available on both iOS and Android platforms.
