The global textile and garment manufacturing industry converged at ITMA 2015 in Milan to source innovative solutions to enhance their business sustainability. Their commitment to sustainability is evident from the strong industry turnout. At the end of eight days, the 17th edition of the world’s most established textile and garment technology exhibition attracted visitorship of almost 1,23,000 from 147 economies.

Dark clouds that have gathered over cotton, the once-white-gold, are yet to disperse. Rising stock, falling price, China’s detrimental policies, agricultural crisis and boom in synthetics are sending shock waves across nations, more so in India.

The Textile Association of India, Karnataka Unit is organising an exhibition showcase on January 22-23, 2016 in Bengaluru. This is part of international textile conference on ?Functional Textiles and Apparels: Global requirements and opportunities?.

Charles Beauduin is the President of CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers. He is CEO and owner of Michel Van de Wiele NV, an international technology player and leader in solutions for the textile industry. He holds a Master in Law from the KU Leuven and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He has a broad international management experience with professional experiences in Asia and the US.
