Natural colour cottons are environmental friendly material. Among the four cultivated species of cotton, colour lint is reported in G.arboreum among diploid and in G.hirsutum in tetraploid cottons. White G. barbadense are inherently superior sources of fibre quality and white G. hirsutum cottons are a source of both yield and fibre quality and these have been used for improvement of colour cotton.

This April 2015, UCMTF, the French textile machinery manufacturers ´association was invited by Ilkhom KHAYDAROV, Uzbek Minister in charge of the textile industry and Chairman of the Board of the state joint-stock company for the light industry ´Uzbekyengilsanoat´, to organise two seminars in Uzbekistan.

Shipments in most of the textile machinery segments experienced declines in 2014. Deliveries of new short-staple spindles fell by 15 per cent from 2013 to 2014. Shipped long-staple spindles and open-end rotors increased by 70 per cent and 2.6 per cent respectively.
In Maharashtra, after the declaration of State Textile Policy, a total of 769 projects with investment of Rs 6,690 crore have been established. The investment have come predominantly into the developed textile machinery of spinning and weaving sector.
