Technical textiles find use in a number of such as aviation, shipping, sports, automobiles, and others. They fit specific needs in demanding applications due to their properties such as high strength, thermal and wear resistance, stiffness, etc.

Dry wipes or wet wipes usually cause issues with sewage systems due to their failure to disintegrate in water. To counter this problem, Voith Group (Division: Paper) and Truetzschler Nonwovens have joined hands to develop flushable wipes.

A recent sale of the fifth wet-laid spunlacing facility is testimony to the successful collaboration between Truetzschler Nonwovens and Voith as established technology leaders in the wet-laid hydroentangled nonwoven segment.

The technical textiles and nonwovens projects were at quite low level in the last couple of years. Not much of investment has happened in this area, the major reasons have been that investors are unsure.
