Due to the allotment of projects in construction and housing areas to Turkish companies in India, the scope for the technical textiles, and their machines is automatically generated, whereby the Government shall take an initiatives in the application/consumption of technical textiles in these projects, while signing agreements for these projects.

It all started in 1988 when BK Mehta, Past-President, Indian Textile Accessories And Machinery Manufacture Association (ITAMMA), categorically suggested that ITAMMA should take up activities which will make its members and the organisation very strong in terms of system, technology and R&D. Considering his passion for R&D, as the members of Managing Committee of ITAMMA on his 70th birthday in 1988 established ?BK Mehta Endowment Fund? in appreciation of his yeomen and meritorious services to the association; who was the president of the association in the year 1953, 1962, 1966, 1978 and also as a trustee for four decades. This fund was further strengthened financially from time to time for various activities in the field of technology.
The BoDs of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association’s (BTMA) organised a meeting where 7-8 members from ITAMMA were present. About 4-5 BoDs of BTMA attended the meeting including their Vice President, Hossain Mehmood. The meeting was held on February 10, 2018 at Dhaka.
The Indian Textile Accessories and Machinery Manufacturers Association (ITAMMA), which participated at the recently-concluded Texfair 2017 in Coimbatore, talked about working towards its vision “to make India the hub of textile accessories and machinery by 2020,†and accordingly under mission plan ITAMMA is taking efforts to innovate and improve the technological capability of its member companies through various schemes and initiatives.
