Cotton yarn exports in India declined by 11.58 per cent in terms of value and 4.44 per cent in terms of volume during April – June this year compared to the same period last year. Cotton yarn exports to China, being the major consumer has declined.
Cotton yarn exports touched $4.5 billion, and cotton fabric $2.13 billion during 2013-14. Cotton home textiles achieved exports of $4.79 billion, according to TEXPROCIL.
During the 10 month period of April 13 — Jan 14, India exported 1,082 million kg of cotton yarn worth US$ 3.75 billion.
