Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree to deepen reforms in the textile industry to fully reprocess raw cotton domestically and increase export potential of the country

CMAI and its family of over 3500 manufacturers and 45000 retailers spanning from Shillong to Srinagar and Surat to Salem heartily welcomes the announcement of the Size India Project by the Minister of Textiles, Smriti Zubin Irani.

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMA) has thanked the Government, especially PMO, Commerce and Textiles Ministry for implementing this much-awaited Policy, which will bring level players for all domestic retailers.

The Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA) is dismayed on the reduction of duty drawback rates on apparel items. In this revised list, the government has reduced rates for value-added ready-made garments while improving rates for raw materials like cotton, yarn and fabrics.

The Indian Government has marginally increased duty drawback rates for several textile items, applicable for the year 2018-19. However, there is a marginal decrease in the duty drawback rates of apparel items.

Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali forayed into the fast-growing branded apparel segment through its brand ‘Paridhan’ and expects a sale of around Rs 1,000 crore next fiscal.
