As part of this realignment, the flat knitting machine business under the STOLL brand will be discontinued.

Earlier this year, KARL MAYER announced a strategic refocus on its core areas: warp knitting, warp preparation, and technical textiles. As part of this realignment, the flat knitting machine business under the STOLL brand will be discontinued. Consequently, the Reutlingen plant will close on 31 October 2025, and production in China will end in December 2025.

“STOLL has a long and proud tradition. We deeply regret that we could not secure a future for the business,” said Oliver Mathews, President of the STOLL Business Unit. “Despite extensive efforts, no investor could be found to continue production at the Reutlingen site with its 280 employees.”

KARL MAYER remains committed to supporting its long-standing customers. Service for the installed machine base will continue, with a spare parts and support concept being implemented across multiple locations.

Going forward, spare parts will be stored in two central warehouses. KARL MAYER’s Obertshausen warehouse will take over Reutlingen’s stock in November and manage all logistics. KARL MAYER China will serve as the central warehouse for global demand for BMS machine parts.

Final updates for the pattern software are available. Software license keys remain purchasable, and existing installations continue to operate.
