Stöhr, the company’s division specialised in yarn solutions for the automotive sector, aircraft seating, personal protective clothing/PPE, as well as home textiles, showcased various innovations, together with its sister company Tenowo (Hoftex Group).
The company introduced a new type of pleated blinds, elaborated in cooperation with Neutex (Hoftex Group) that is based on a wool yarn. The combination of a melting fibre with wool enhances this application that is traditionally composed of synthetic material. Wool as naturally anti-bacterial, odour-resistant and moisture-regulating fibre neutralises odours, reduces noise and enhances the room climate.
Another highlight was fabrics made of wool yarn blended with biodegradable Polyamide 6.6 Amni Soul Eco, a fibre developed by Solvay Group. In addition to being durable, moisture-regulating and recyclable, this combination is said to be a more eco-friendly alternative for textile applications that biodegrades in five years, if disposed of in landfills (tested following ASTM D5511).
