Textile major reports Rs 170 million PAT amid resilient domestic demand.

RSWM reported a resilient performance for the first quarter of FY27, with EBITDA rising 16.1 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 940 million despite softer export demand, geopolitical uncertainties and raw material price volatility.

Revenue for Q1 FY27 stood at Rs 11.61 billion, up 1.7 per cent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) but 0.7 per cent lower YoY. Total income was Rs 11.70 billion, compared with Rs 11.81 billion in Q1 FY26.

Gross profit increased 5.8 per cent YoY to Rs 4.66 billion, while the gross margin improved by 253 basis points to 39.8 per cent. The improvement was supported by a favourable product mix, manufacturing efficiencies and disciplined cost management.

EBITDA increased to Rs 940 million from Rs 810 million in Q1 FY26, while the EBITDA margin strengthened to 8 per cent from 6.9 per cent. On a sequential basis, EBITDA rose 10.1 per cent from Rs 850 million in Q4 FY26.

Profit after tax (PAT) increased 2.4 times YoY to Rs 170 million from Rs 70 million in Q1 FY26. However, PAT declined 51.6 per cent sequentially from Rs 350 million in Q4 FY26. The PAT margin stood at 1.4 per cent.

Riju Jhunjhunwala, Chairman and Managing Director, RSWM Limited, said the company’s performance reflected operational excellence, an improved product mix and disciplined cost management. He added that RSWM would continue focusing on profitable growth, operational efficiencies, high-value segments and deeper customer partnerships.

Rajeev Gupta, Joint Managing Director, RSWM Limited, said the company would continue investing prudently in capabilities, innovation and sustainability as it builds a future-ready organisation and strengthens its portfolio of value-added products.
