Sasmira Institute and Fineotex to set up R&D centre

Fineotex
Chemical Limited and Sasmira Institute have signed the MOU and will setup
Research and Development centre to develop sustainable speciality chemicals
& solutions for the industry. Fineotex Chemical Limite is an emerging
player of speciality chemicals while The Synthetic & Art Silk Mills’
Research Association (SASMIRA) is India’s premier textile institute. Both of
them are based in Mumbai.

According to
Sanjay Tibrewala, Executive Director, the company is grateful to the Sasmira
management for allowing them to undertake R&D activities for the benefit of
the textile industry and customers as a whole. The company will develop a
Support and Solution Centre for technical service in Sasmira which will help
the chemical and textile industry to grow in terms of greener products and
sustainable practices. The focus will also be to catalyze innovation and
sustainable chemistry.

As per Arindam
Choudhuri, CEO, the purpose of this collaboration is to find new sustainable
solutions and chemicals to reduce time, water, and energy for the textile wet
processing industry. He also said that the Malaysian team of Fineotex and
Biotex will support the companies with the latest technologies and best
practices. With this collaboration, the students will also be benefitted and the
industry will flourish in the long run. The students will also receive a
certificate of recognition from Fineotex.

As per U. K.
Gangopadhyay, Executive Director, Sasmira, the institute is excited as for the
first time any speciality chemical professional company has decided to
contribute to the industry by developing sustainable chemistries and processes.
He also said that with this collaboration the industry, students, and
researchers will all get an opportunity to excel in the future.
