Rashmi Verma: Multifaceted

Rashmi Verma is Secretary – Textiles, Ministry of Textiles under the Government of India. Verma, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, took over the charge as the new Secretary, Ministry of Textiles from January 1, 2016. Earlier, she was the Special Secretary in the Department of Revenue in Ministry of Finance. Verma has a very rich, vast and varied experience at various key positions at the Centre and State level.

Verma was also the Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence Production in Ministry of Defence, Government of India in Central Deputation. At the state level, she was the Principal Secretary and looked after the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation as Chairperson and Managing Director in the Additional Secretary level. Verma has also handled the Admin and General Administration in the PMO as Director and Personnel & General Admin in Cabinet Affairs in the Cabinet Secretariat.
