Moda Biella declares winners for SS22 contest with NIFT

Italian Luxury
brand Moda Biella, collaborated with the prestigious, National Institute of
Fashion Technology (NIFT), where Malcolm Campbell (European Advisor) imparted a
wealth of industry experience and knowledge with the students. The ‘Moda Biella
Master Class’ webinar was conducted for 14 NIFT centres across India for
students in Textile Design course. Moda Biella had forayed into the Indian
market in October 2019 by partnering with textile manufacturer OCM.

During the 2-day
technical, design and colour workshop, Moda Biella announced a contest for the
NIFT students to coin their very own Hero product and stand a chance to feature
their designs in the upcoming Moda Biella Collection. The winners of this
contest were Anwesha Mohapatra from NIFT Mumbai, Pearl Bansal from NIFT Chennai
and Aaliya Khan from NIFT Jodhpur. Anwesha shared stylish textile designs with
great colour selection and shade names. She displayed intricate compositions
for Spring 2022. Pearl had an incredible Italian influence. He displayed
designs for work wear in Busybee, and Smarter Office Space. The colours he
chose were earthy and pleasant. Lastly, Aaliya’s work emphasized on Honey-Maize
colour. These colours finally transformed into butter colours. The designs were
a pleasant combination of nature and comfort. Her focus was on recycled
materials to reduce waste. The designs offered by all three winners were unique
and attractive.

According to
Vikram Mahaldar, MD & CEO, OCM Private Limited, the company feels delighted
to train the future designers and is also overwhelmed with the response the
company received from the Moda Biella SS22 Contest. He said that the designs
were unique. He congratulated the winners too.

Malcolm
Campbell, European Advisor, was excited to share his knowledge and experience
with the young textile students. He was also impressed with the enthusiasm
shown by the students and he was glad to answer their questions related to raw
materials, weaving, tailoring, and colours. He said that such webinars will
happen in the coming months also, and the future of Textile Design in India is
very positive as well as bright.

Moda Biella is a
famous fashion brand in Italy. The fabrics are great and the fibre offers superfine
cloth. The brand is deep-rooted to its heritage and excels in technical
innovation, colour choice, and designs.
