Suessen was founded in 1920 in the South German village of Suessen, from where it took its name. From its inception Suessen concerned itself with textile components and systems. Spindles were followed by top weighting arms and bottom rollers. In the mid 70s, we got involved in Open End spinning, and it the late 90s, compact spinning followed. Zero effluent discharge (ZED): It is a drive that has been happening only in fits and starts in India. When the present Indian government initiated a draft regulation only a few months ago, which will make ZLD (zero liquid discharge) mandatory for textile units having waste water discharge of more than 25 KLD (kiloliters per day), the pollution issue surfaced again.
