The Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (ITAMMA) organised 15th product-cum-catalogue show on February 12, 2016 at The Oasis, Erode, Tamil Nadu, where a well known identity from the industry, D Palanisamy, Chairman, Pallava Group, Erode, was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the show.

France is the sixth exporter of textile machinery worldwide and Turkey is its second most important market. ITM is the leading textile machinery fair in Turkey. Hubert TRETSCH (Superba’s marketing manager), President of the Promotion Committee of the French Textile Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (UCMTF), will be at ITM Istanbul June 1-4. He states, “Our tradition of R&D associated with our long term partnerships with our clients explains why France is exporting around one billion Euros worth of textile machinery each year.”

INDA’s Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics (JEFF) has strengthened its collaboration with academic scholars and industry experts with its appointment of new editorial leadership. Behnam Pourdeyhimi, Ph.D. and Executive Director of The Nonwovens Institute at NC State University, has been named Editor-in-Chief of the international, peer-reviewed, scientific e-Journal.

From January 25-28, 2016 the RISE (Research, Innovation & Science for Engineered Fabrics Conference) took place in New Orleans, USA. It is organised by the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA) and provides the annual stage to present the prestigious RISE Durable Product Award.

The history of industrial cotton spinning began in the 18th century in England. In 1781, the first steam-driven cotton spinning mill was opened in Manchester. There, at the pulsating heart of industrialisation, no less than 108 cotton spinning mills were existing in 1853. About 80 per cent of the world’s production came from Manchester, which bore the nickname “Cottonopolis”.

Two technological conferences themed “German Technology meets Vietnamese Textile” will be held on July 5 in Hanoi and July 5 in Ho Chi Minh City. The events are organised by the VDMA Textile Machinery Association and supported by Vietnam Textile & Apparel Association (VITAS), China Textile & Apparel (CTA, Adsale) and Becker Travel Co Ltd, Vietnam.
