ITMA 2027 Stand Space Applications Open
The seven-day showcase will take place from 16 to 22 September 2027 at Messegelände Hannover, Germany, under the theme “Co-creating the Future of Textiles.”
Stand space applications are now open for ITMA 2027, the world’s largest textile and garment technology exhibition. The seven-day showcase will take place from 16 to 22 September 2027 at Messegelände Hannover, Germany, under the theme “Co-creating the Future of Textiles.”
Building on the success of ITMA 2023 in Milan, the exhibition will once again serve as the global stage for textile and garment machinery manufacturers to unveil new technologies, foster partnerships, and expand their businesses worldwide.
Alex Zucchi, President of CEMATEX, owner of ITMA, commented, “In 2027, ITMA returns to Hanover after 36 years. More than a platform for innovative technologies, it is a turning point for the textile industry. As we evolve from Industry 4.0 to 5.0, we are not just automating but humanising technology. Together, we will accelerate the shift towards a circular economy, driven by collaboration, innovation and regeneration.”
Dr Janpeter Horn, Chairperson of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association, added,
“We expect strong participation from VDMA companies, who are excited that ITMA will once again be hosted in Germany. With Hanover’s world-class exhibition infrastructure, ITMA 2027 will provide the ideal platform for showcasing innovations in efficiency, automation, digitalisation, and sustainability.”
ITMA 2027 is expected to cover 200,000 square metres and attract more than 1,500 exhibitors. Widely regarded as the “Olympics of textile machinery exhibitions,” the event will help the industry navigate new challenges and opportunities amid tightening sustainability regulations and rapid technological change.
CEMATEX grants to support participation
The exhibition will feature 20 product sectors across the entire textile and garment manufacturing value chain, including a dedicated Research and Innovation sector. Institutions in this category will be eligible for a CEMATEX grant covering 50 per cent of participation costs.
In addition, CEMATEX will fully subsidise up to 20 young companies with innovative textile solutions, building on the success of its 2023 Start-Up Valley initiative, which featured 15 selected companies.
TreeToTextile, a Swedish cellulose fibre producer and past Start-Up Valley participant, praised the programme. Ida Alnemo, Head of Application & Sustainability, noted:
“ITMA has been a great platform for the collaboration needed to scale breakthrough innovations like ours, enabling us to make a positive change by offering better fibres to the industry.”
