During the Curtain Raiser event for ‘Bharat Tex 2025,’ Singh noted that India’s demographic dividend would support its growth.

India’s textile industry is projected to reach $350 billion by 2030 and create 30.5 million jobs, according to the statement made by Giriraj Singh, Textiles Minister.

During the Curtain Raiser event for Bharat Tex 2025, Singh noted that India’s demographic dividend would support its growth, potentially surpassing China. He encouraged Indian companies to invite their international buyers to participate in the event, scheduled to take place from 14-17 February, 2025.

Singh highlighted the potential for increasing the number of exhibitors, stating that while the previous event featured 3,500 exhibitors, this year’s event aims to host 5,000. The event will occur simultaneously at Bharat Mandapam and India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida. The main event, covering the entire textile value chain, will be held from February 14-17, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, while exhibitions related to handicrafts, garment machinery, and ethnic apparel will take place from February 12-15, 2025, at the India Expo Centre and Mart.

Singh also emphasised the need to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and to ensure that India’s textile products are recognized globally for their ‘Bharat’ brand and sustainability.

Spanning 200,000 square meters, the event is expected to feature over 5,000 exhibitors, attract 6,000 international buyers from more than 110 countries, and draw over 120,000 visitors. Additionally, around 100 international speakers are anticipated to participate.

Textiles Secretary Rachna Shah stated that the goal of Bharat Tex is to position India as a global sourcing hub and investment destination to attract both FDI and domestic investment, ensuring that international brands source from India.

The Bharat Tex exhibition will include a wide range of products such as Apparel, Home Furnishings, Floor Coverings, Fibres, Yarns, Threads, Fabrics, Carpets, Silk, Textiles-based Handicrafts, Technical Textiles, and more. It will also feature a retail High Street segment, focusing on opportunities in India’s fashion retail market.
