The course is not only focused on education but also serves as a pathway to promising careers and substantial initial salaries.

In response to the increased demand in the textile industry, along with the aim of motivating and providing training to the younger generation, it has been announced by the Government Institute of Textiles Technology (GITT) that a new course has been introduced. The course is not only focused on education but also serves as a pathway to promising careers and substantial initial salaries.

The newly introduced polytechnic course, which spans three and a half years, aims to equip students with the necessary skills for achieving success. As the second-largest employment sector in India, following agriculture, the textile industry presents numerous opportunities for those who are well-prepared.

According to statements made by the Institute’s principal, KV Ramana Babu, and the head of the department, K Mohammed, in an interview with TNIE, students who have successfully qualified in Polycet-2023 will be offered free enrollment in the course. On the other hand, students who are unable to qualify can gain admission by paying minimal fees through spot allocation.

The training provided in various aspects such as spinning, weaving, chemical processing, technical textiles, and apparel manufacturing enables students to excel at a national level, KV Ramana Babu added. He further elaborated that what sets this course apart is the practical industrial training that is integrated. Moreover, during this training phase, students will also receive a stipend of Rs 7,000 per month, making the course even more appealing.
