Technical textiles refer to textile materials and products used primarily for their technical performance and functional properties. Technical textiles are predominantly man-made fibre-based owing to their inherent advantages of strength and versatility. Man-made fibres are estimated to account for around 75 per cent of the total fibre consumption in global technical textiles.

India is emerging as a significant player in technical textiles. The economical growth leading to infrastructure creation has made India a good market for technical textiles. India has developed a foothold in the production of technical textiles owing to its skilled and technical manpower as well as availability of raw material and we expect more investments in this sector. The company feels that in coming years there are chances of good growth in production of nonwoven fabric along with increase in converters.

DEECO group is working in technical textiles area since many years and has good experience through its Principals — ANDRITZ Asselin-Thibeau, Laroche, Strahm, Hip-Mitsu, SAURER-ALLMA, Benninger Zell, Texmer, SIMA SRL (Dietze Schell) and Qingdao Jinzuan Needles Co.

The key features of their application systems are:

  • Coating weight application ranges from: 0.02 to 1500 gsm.
  • Processing speed: 2 mts/min to 900 mts/min.
  • Processable hotmelt adhesives application width ranges from 0.3 mm to 6000 mm.
  • Wide range of Viscosity from 100 to 120,000 mPass.
  • Possible coating: Full coating, breathable (open) coating structure, multi-line coating or intermittent coating.

The application range includes coating, laminating, self-adhesive and thermo-adhesive products.
