Picanol participated at ITMACH exhibition, which was held at the Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad from 7-10 December 2017. This event was one of the largest textile machinery exhibitions of 2017 in the country and included participation from over 10 countries including India, China, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherland, Turkey, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Picanol NV Belgium was located in Stall No.D-40/41 & E-33/34 in Hall-6 and displayed their airjet looms – OMNIplus Summum.

The Indian Textile Accessories and Machinery Manufacturers Association (ITAMMA), which participated at the recently-concluded Texfair 2017 in Coimbatore, talked about working towards its vision “to make India the hub of textile accessories and machinery by 2020,” and accordingly under mission plan ITAMMA is taking efforts to innovate and improve the technological capability of its member companies through various schemes and initiatives.

The VDMA Textile Machinery Association has accomplished successful events for the textile industries in the US and Mexico. More than 80 decision-makers of the US textile, nonwoven and carpet industry as well as 25 leading textile machinery and accessories manufacturers participated in the VDMA textile machinery conference on November 6 in Charlotte (NC).

P ratibha Syntex Ltd (Pratibha), a vertically integrated, sustainability oriented manufacturer of knitted textile products, announced that Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has bestowed it with prestigious Gold Trophy for Highest Global Exports 16-17 in the category of apparel exports above Rs 100 crore and up to Rs 500 crore and formidable Award for Environmental Sustainability during a programme held at New Delhi.

With the onset of GST regime, there have been a lot of concerns amongst the member-exporters regarding LUT/ BOND/ Bank Guarantee, refunds, fate of export promotion schemes etc. To address the concerns of the exporters, the Indian Textile Accessories And Machinery Manufacture Association (ITAMMA), organised the seminar on imports and exports.

Sven-Erik Bucht Minister for Rural Affairs from the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation Sweden arrived in Mumbai to discuss a joint project on smart textiles involving potentially Aditya Birla Group, Swedish company Domsjö and the two governments as well as the European Union.

The minister visited the Aditya Birla Group Textile Research Application Development Centre at Kharach in Gujarat, which is India’s pioneer in viscose staple fibre (VSF), a man-made, bio-degradable fibre with characteristics akin to cotton. The prime aim of this visit is to boost development on smart textiles from using VSF, cellulosic fibre and pulp as an alternative to cotton and hence the Aditya Birla group is a natural fit with its easily blendable cellulosic fibre.

The first European roadshow of 14 textile machinery manufacturers took place on October 18 in Bogota and the following day in Medellin. With over 100 Colombian textile producers attending, it exceeded the expectations of the organisers, the Belgian (SYMATEX), French (UCMTF), Spanish (AMTEX) and Swedish (TMAS) textile machinery associations.
