There was a time when home textiles were purchased only during the festivals in India. But this story was 20 years ago! Thanks to the growth of retailing and increase in purchasing power, home textiles market in India is transforming. An ITJ Exclusive Report delves into this transformation.

Raga Tex, was launched in 1996 as a proprietorship concern by a young lady entrepreneur Thiurmagal, ably assisted by her doctor husband Dr Bharathi Muthurathinam. “It appears that many big retailers abroad, either have already done, are planning to open shop, in India. We should therefore have plans to start investing in brand building and product promotion, within India”, says G Shekar, Executive Director, Raga Tex India Private Limited, in an interview with ITJ Senior Editor Karthik Muthuveeran.

“In the next 10 years, home textile players will focus more on Indian markets rather than focus more on exports,” says Shrinidhi Nadgauda, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, InterMarket (India) Pvt Ltd, during the recently-concluded Textiles India 2017 event in Gandhinagar, while speaking on the home textiles market in India to Karthik Muthuveeran, Sr Sub Editor of the ITJ.

It is best to ensure that compressed air is dry and clean before it is used in any pneumatic process. Moisture is always present in the compressed air along with dust particles, oil (oils particles are introduced by lubricated air compressors) and solid contaminants which can adversely affect air quality.
