A.T.E Enterprises Private Limited, India, has entered into an exclusive partnership with SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler AG, pioneers in winding technology since 1854.

SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler AG is well known for offering the most suitable assembly winding machine for every application as per the winding and thread laying system requirements. SSM machines can be customised to suit the needs of the customer. SSM assembly winders can also be prepared to meet the needs of automation.

A.T.E. will exclusively market the complete range of SSM winders in Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Telangana. The synergy between the two companies will help understand customer needs, and concentrate in serving market demands. This new partnership will complement the existing products such as TFOs and yarn dyeing machinery which A.T.E. already has in its portfolio.

A.T.E. will also market SSM dye package winders, assembly winders, air covering and air texturing machines, sewing thread lubrication and finish winders, yarn singeing machines, hank/muff to cone winders, rewinding machines and the SSM Giudici friction disc draw texturing machine.

Spreading, splitting, winding with SSM

SSM attended the JEC World 2017, the largest composites show in the world, in Paris, France from March 14-16, 2017. The latest SSM solution for spreading, splitting and winding of carbon was shown on the joined booth of Institut für Textiltechnik of RWTH Aachen University (ITA).

In collaboration with ITA and Gruschwitz Textilwerke AG, producer of technical yarns, SSM developed a modular concept to enhance the properties of carbon fibre rovings. The newly-introduced SSM carbon machine features a modular design and spreads, splits and winds carbon fibres. The machine spreads and splits heavy tows made of carbon fibres with up to 50K (other fibres on request), which are then divided into split tows with a defined number of filaments between 3K and 12K. Thanks to this new SSM process, the costs for light tows are being reduced significantly.

Passion for success – SSM symposia in Korea and Egypt

People, markets, technologies and fashion are subject to continuous changes that require a passion for success to deliver top products and best solutions for any new demand. SSM is living these values and has shared their experience during the symposia in Korea and Egypt.

In March 2017, SSM held a symposium in Daegu City, Korea. Over 90 delegates from the industry joined the event. In cooperation with KTDI and Melchers, SSM informed the audience about the latest inventions and solutions of SSM GIUDICI in the field of Air Texturing. The symposium mainly focused on the texturing material itself and was conducted in a way that participants could understand and would be interested in. The highlight of the day was the showing of fabric and yarn samples as customers went on one by one to check and see while spontaneous questions were answered at the same time.

The various samples consisting of air-textured yarns (ATY) and draw-textured yarns (DTY) where shown in regard to its application and end use. Finally the delegates could see the SSM texturing machines running at KTDI. Beginning of April, SSM had the opportunity to share their passion at the SWISSMEM symposium in Cairo, Egypt. The well-organised symposium attracted a large number of Egyptian textile manufacturers.
