The textile park is planned to be established in the well-connected Atari village of the Malihabad block.

Rakesh Sachan, Minister for Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises, confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lay the foundation of the upcoming PM Mitra mega textile and apparel park in the state soon. Sachan stated that the park would accelerate the state’s effort to become a $1 trillion economy. He added that the foundation of the project would be laid by Modi.

Sachan mentioned that three multi malls were proposed for Uttar Pradesh in Varanasi, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur. He mentioned that they were in contact with the Prime Minister’s office and the program schedule would be announced later. Sachan expressed hope that the ceremony would take place within a month or two.

Sachan made these statements during the inaugural of the two-day ‘Uttar Pradesh MSME Conference 2023’ organized by ASSOCHAM. The textile park is planned to be established in the well-connected Atari village of the Malihabad block. The minister stated that the park would attract an investment of Rs 10,000 crore. The government would provide state-of-the-art facilities to match global standards and beat the competition.

The facilities provided in the park would include road networks, 24×7 power and water supply, warehouses, zero liquid discharge effluent treatment plant, training and skill development facilities, administrative building with product display facility and exhibition centre with a testing laboratory, workers’ hostels, housing zones, medical facilities, commercial and recreational facilities, open spaces and parks, security arrangements, as well as industrial plots and plug and industrial sheds.

Sachan mentioned that the park would enable UP’s economic journey by creating jobs, enhancing trade opportunities, and positioning the state as a major hub for textile manufacturing and production. He anticipated that the park would provide employment to one lakh youths. Sachan acknowledged the packaging challenges faced by small enterprises and assured the government’s commitment to promoting MSMEs and addressing their concerns. He also highlighted the government’s focus on the development of multi malls.

Sachan revealed that three multi malls were proposed in Uttar Pradesh in Varanasi, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur. He mentioned discussions with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal regarding this initiative. Sachan emphasized the importance of MSME registration and encouraged more enterprises in the state to come forward for registration.

Sivasubramaniam, CMD, SIDBI, stated that small enterprises would require additional financial support of up to Rs 25 lakh crore over the next three to four years. Suhail Naithani, President of the National Council of ASSOCHAM’s WTO, Trade, and Investment, expressed that MSMEs could reach new heights with the cooperation of the Central and state governments.
