
Aditya Birla Fashion tops India, ranks 3rd globally in sustainability
S&P Global CSA 2025 places ABFRL among world’s top retailers
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL) has reinforced its leadership in sustainable retail by retaining its position as India’s most sustainable retailer and securing the third rank globally in the Retail Sector, according to the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) 2025. The company achieved a score of 84, placing it in the 99th percentile of the global retail industry.
The S&P Global CSA is an annual assessment that evaluates the sustainability performance of over 7,000 companies worldwide and forms the basis for inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). The 2025 assessment cycle introduced more stringent, evidence-based standards with a strong emphasis on transparency, disclosures and validation across Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) parameters. Despite the higher benchmarks, Aditya Birla Fashion improved its performance across most ESG themes.
The company’s progress is driven by its long-running sustainability programme, ReEarth. Launched over a decade ago, ReEarth has evolved from a focus on operational efficiencies to a product-led sustainability approach. Aditya Birla Fashion is now advancing towards Sustainability 3.0, centred on deeper ESG integration and preparedness for a net-zero future.

Aditya Birla Fashion’s sustainability journey includes the launch of ReEarth in 2012–13, steady improvements in CSA scores over the years, and a fourth global ranking in 2024, underscoring its consistent progress towards responsible and sustainable growth.
