Brueckner finishing system saves over 10-times water needs: CEO
Many call Brueckner’s textile machinery as fascinating, agreeing to the catchphrase found on their website because as one Asian company bearing testimony to the machinery’s unique features says: “We achieve perfect dyeing results with our Brueckner thermosol line and this allows us to extend our production with high-quality products.
Asian company bearing testimony to the machinery’s unique features says: “We achieve perfect dyeing results with our Brueckner thermosol line and this allows us to extend our production with high-quality products. Our operators have been trained excellently by Brueckner’s experts and therefore we could optimise the performance of the line.â€
Brueckner offers complete line systems for the finishing of woven and knitted fabric: drying, heat-setting, sanforising, compacting, relaxing, continuous dyeing, curing. It also offers complete line systems for the finishing of technical textiles, glass fibres and floor coverings: drying, heat-setting, coating, lining, laminating, functionalising, desizing, consolidating. Besides, it also offers world-wide service and support for the various lines: spare parts, lubricants, modernisations, modifications, installation, tele-service, maintenance, training, product optimisations.
For 70 years, Brueckner has been the worldwide partner for all companies which are drying, coating and finishing web-shaped materials: whether clothing fabrics, nonwovens, carpet, glass or coatings – the variety of materials to be processed has never been limited. The company asserts that it develops, designs and produces exclusively in Germany and uses only products which do correspond to the German standards.
It was extremely difficult to spot the busily-engaged Axel Pieper, CEO – Technical Director, Brueckner Textile Technologies GmbH, Germany among the often-crowded stall at the recently-concluded ITMA Barcelona, but a chance encounter gave the ITJ Editor, Samuel Joseph some moments early one morning to have a brief interaction with him and here are the excerpts:
What are the advantages of the Bruckner systems introduced at this ITMA?
We have introduced a new type of application system in innovation wherein with minimal application there is impregnation in finisher.
The basic advantages of this system shown at ITMA are water saving and environmental protection. In addition, the requirement of chemical in this applicator is pretty low. In conventional systems, it requires 80 litres of water for 2 m wide fabric, but our system needs only 6 litres of water. This means that for every batch of fabrics, there will be a very minimal wastewater, thereby reducing the pollution tremendously. This also is good for saving a lot for the finisher. It also means that when you have less amount of water, you need less evaporating capacity. This low-down system applicator. This ultimately brings down the usual level of 60 per cent to 70 per cent of moisture found in conventional system to around 20 per cent to 40 per cent. Besides, this low level of moisture helps in reducing the energy used in the consequent processes.
What are implications of Industry 4.0 in Brueckner systems?
Industry 4.0 is not just some kind of gimmick to play around with. Industry 4.0 should add value to the products. This is how we look at Industry 4.0 and there are several aspects in Industry 4.0. Firstly, user-friendliness is of utmost importance. In our systems, one can find one’s way in an easy and intuitive manner. To enhance automation, we have introduced the mobile operator, which has cut from two operators to one. Apart from saving one operator, this gives extra flexibility.
Another important information is the accessibility of machine information. Management operating panel from us enable process of production and maintenance. Now instead of hopping from place to place, the engineers can from one place watch the lots that are undergoing treatment and the ones which are on the way, and also the various parameters that need to be monitored. All these tools give the managers the overview of what is happening and what needs to be done just by looking at the mobile. Another crucial factor is the exchange of data for analysis. The machine stoppages and quality problems are also monitored and recorded.
What about your various new markets and also the developments in the Indian market?
Indian market is a very important market for Brueckner. In the woven category we have some important clients from the northern India. We also have a lot of business from small and medium-sized industries from south. At present, we foresee a lot of prospects in the Indian market. We see stability in the Government and with the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme, we see a lot of potential for our machines in the Indian market.
Konica Enterprises Enterprise is driven to provide quality services and establish long-term relationships with organisations.
