A Suresh, Business Head of the Spinning division of A.T.E. Enterprises Private Limited, speaks on the company’s offerings for the spinning industry.
For today’s spinning mills, what are the major technologies that A.T.E. group offers?
At present, we offer:
In spinning, A.T.E. group has a formidable presence. What plus points have helped build this position?
A.T.E has been the forerunner in bringing European technology to India and serving the Indian textile industry since 1939. A.T.E. offers world-class latest technology spinning machinery from global leaders like Truetzschler – Germany, Truetzschler India, Savio – Italy, Savio India, SSM – Switzerland, Luwa – India, and Sara Elgi – India. These world-class products are marketed by our highly-qualified and dedicated sales team with a pan-India sales and service network. We help the spinners not only in designing a spinning plant, but also support them in forward integration as A.T.E. can offer solutions in setting-up weaving, processing, knitting and nonwoven facilities.
Automation is the talk of the spinning industry today. What is A.T.E. group’s contribution?
A.T.E. offers some of the best technology in automation from each of our principals. Truetzschler’s automatic bale opener BO-A is a classic example of automation. A bale opener is the first machine required by a spinning mill, and Truetzschler’s bale opener not only saves labour, but also increases the efficiency of downstream machinery. We offer an online data monitoring system – Truetzschler’s T DATA, by which spinners can access data from their machines in real time from anywhere in the world.
Savio offers the latest automatic cone winding machine EcoPulsarS with SIS (Spindle Identification System) by which spinners can identify the position of faulty spindles in their ring frame. Savio also offers the longest automatic cone winding machine EcoPulsarS with 110 spindles which helps the spinners to save energy, reduce man-power and optimise their process.
SSM offers auto doffers in their assembly and soft package winders which help the spinners to minimise their operating expenses.
Elgi offers the state-of-the-art BTS that helps spinners to transport the bobbins from speed frame to ring frames automatically with a lot of flexibility.
How are the various textile policies helping the industry, mainly for the greenfield projects?
The extension of Gujarat textile policy last year came as a boon and a lot of greenfield projects came up in the region last year. The Maharashtra textile policy has helped spinners to invest, we have experienced increased demand in Amravati.
The corporates from north India are investing in projects in Madhya Pradesh. Among these greenfield projects, a few are also with backward integration. The extension of the Rajasthan textile policy should also boost projects in that region. Overall the state textile policies have come as a relief to the textile industry which has faced the vagaries of monsoons, local demand volatility, fluctuating dollar rates, and stiff competition from all over the world. Truetzschler with the A.T.E. group has built a huge reputation in the spinning area.
What are the latest developments?
The latest innovation from Truetzschler is the contamination sorter TS-T5 in the blow-room line, which has five modules for the detection of the entire spectrum of the contamination in fibers. In carding, TC-15, the wider width card, is a big hit in the market with its jumbo can 1,200 mm with the T-move system. In breaker draw frames, Truetzschler can offer the TD-9T twin delivery draw frame with jumbo cans, which is steadily growing in market presence. The comber TCO-12 with a four-axis multi motor drive system without a gearbox is also well accepted by spinners.
What is in store for India in spinning? How is A.T.E. group prepared to meet the challenges?
Being the first in the entire manufacturing value chain, spinning is an important and integral part of the industry. The Indian spinners are well versed with the latest technologies offered and are quite innovative in making use of the new fibres like lycra, tencil, modal, glass, milk, bamboo, etc. Spinning industry is also consuming more synthetic fibres as compared to a few years ago. Overall the spinning industry is very flexible and changes to the needs very smoothly and efficiently.
