The leading trade event in the world’s biggest yarn and fibre consuming market; an unrivalled ability in gathering high-quality worldwide buyers from various market sectors; strong industry affirmation on its effectiveness; synergies with concurrent international textile events… these are the key reasons why Yarn Expo is the fastest growing fair of its kind in recent years. As the fair and the potential in the Asian market continue to gain prominence in the global industry, Yarn Expo Spring 2018 is ready to once again create an effective sales and sourcing platform for the industry.
To be held from March 14-16 in hall 5.1 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai in China, this year’s fair is expecting over 450 exhibitors (2016: 393) to take part. A full spectrum of quality yarn and fibre products, such as natural and blended yarns, man-made fibres and yarns as well as the fair’s rising star – specialty yarns – will be featured to accommodate all kinds of sourcing needs.
In the past three years, Yarn Expo Spring has recorded significant growth in its exhibitor number and exhibition space. However, the fair’s success cannot be measured only by figures; in addition, the testimonies of exhibitors tell the full, and rewarding story.
Well known viscose staple fibre producer Birla Cellulose highly values Yarn Expo as this platform has effectively boosted the awareness of their brand and fibres in the China market. Peter Dong, Senior Manager of Birla Group’s Marketing & Business Development, shared during the last spring fair: “Three years ago when we first entered China, there weren’t many people that knew about us, but, today, Birla is a well-known company with an increasing number of fashion garment brands appointing us to be the main supplier of their products.†Sharing the company’s rewarding exhibiting experience, Dong added: “Our booths were packed with visitors throughout the fair. Besides China, there were also buyers from Europe, America, Japan and many more. Amongst these visitors were our key target groups, such as mid-range garment manufacturers as well as fashion brands like H&M. No other similar fairs can offer such opportunities nor draw such a wide variety of buyers. That’s why Yarn Expo is an unparalleled marketplace for the industry.â€
Often targeting overseas buyers, Indian and Pakistan exhibitors shared their high satisfaction with the fair’s internationalism. Abedin Ahmed Rizvi, Manager (Sales & Marketing) of Indus Dyeing & Manufacturing from Pakistan said: “Yarn Expo offers an effective platform for us to meet our target buyers from around the world. We’ve met many Chinese and European buyers during the fair, and many of them place orders with us.†Jitin Sethi, Vice President of India’s Envision Exports Pvt Ltd agreed: “Yarn Expo is one of the biggest platforms for yarn business, and it has a diverse buyer profile.
