China´s textile export down 10.71%
In January 2015, China´s export of textiles and garment dropped 10.71 per cent year-on-year to US$ 25.54 billion. The export of textiles dropped 7.7 per cent to near US$ 9.72 billion, and the export of garment dropped 12.5 per cent to about US$ 15.83 billion.

In 2014, the export of the textile industry in Jiangxi Province in China maintained fast growth. It topped US$ 5.94 billion, accounting for 18.54 per cent of the provincial total, improving 1.01 percentage points compared to 2013. Meanwhile, in January 2015, China´s cotton import dropped both month-on-month and year-on-year and cotton price declined sharply. Besides, according to another report, the intention of cotton-growing in China will go downward in 2015, expanding 7.5 percentage points compared to 2014. A survey conducted in January on 95 counties, 98 towns, 313 villages and 2,742 cotton growers shows that 41.4 per cent of them will keep the same growing area as in last year, down 20.4 percentage points from a year ago;
China´s textile industry is drawing up the ´13th Five-year Plan of Textile Industry´ and the draft of which will be finished in the first half of this year, Li Jincai, director of China Textile Planning Institute of Construction said recently.
Yet another report says that Hengfeng Group based in Dezhou, Shandong Province and Sichuan-based YibinSiliya Group Ltd. recently signed an agreement on building the 1-million-spindle spinning project in Pingshan County, Sichuan Province in the next five years with a total investment of CNY 2 billion.
Foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Chinese mainland jumped 29.4 per cent in January from a year earlier, settling at US$ 13.92 billion, according to the Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
