Taking place on 2-3 October in the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, International Cotton Associations (ICA) next major event Dubai 2014 is expected to attract 1,000 delegates.

ICA President, Mohit Shah, explains; "Dubai is a dynamic hub for global commerce, with unmatched infrastructure that provides seamless connectivity for businesses worldwide. Hosting the ICAs most important event in Dubai will make the event easily accessible to all, as well as attracting a large participation from the Indian subcontinent, which today has a very significant share of global production, consumption, export and import trade of raw cotton."

Greek laboratory is next to receive stamp of approval
Meanwhile, Konstantinos V Markou SA joins Cotton South Africa to become the second laboratory certified under the ICA Bremen International Laboratory Certification Scheme. Designed to raise the bar in the quality testing arena, the aim of the scheme is to establish an approved list of laboratories worldwide that meet a standard level of quality assurance.

Following Konstantinos V Markou SAs certification, James Knowlton of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) said: "Global standardisation of cotton testing practices is essential for providing consistent and reliable cotton quality measurements in the international marketplace."
