VITONOTO: Designing the workstations
VITONOTO INDUSTRIAL DESIGN work for more than a quarter of a century in design of machinery with workstations ´ from hospital to laboratory, from machine tool to gastronomy industry and textile machinery. During all these years the company has developed a specific design methodology to optimise the quality of work and therefore of the product.
Its skills range from the setting-up of new corporate images or optimising the existing ones with the design of products, the definition of the interactive elements of medium and high complexity up to the development of pictographic alphabets to set machining programmes and/or follow the production. Together with the customers, Vito Nito had the opportunity to change the traditional sectors by introducing, taking into consideration the operators, new colours and new forms through the development and application of new production techniques. The individuality of distinctive level and the increased interactive awareness of the operator have been and will be recurring themes of our daily doing.
VITO NOTO INDUSTRIAL DESIGN has always worked to improve the user experience by designing ergonomic and functional workstations. It is indeed of decisive importance to make an intuitive and comfortable approach of the operator with the machines, which is the result of long and careful planning. It starts with sketches and takes life in a process of modifying and adapting until reaching the form, material and colour most suitable to their function. The continuous collaboration between engineering and design results in a constructive dialogue and a quality of development otherwise unattainable.
The design also aims to guide companies in the creation of new and innovative products, assisting in all project phases, from the idea to engineering until handover to production.
The visual languages that are implemented in VITO NOTO INDUSTRIAL DESIGN studio facilitates communication between operators and machines.
The operator´s life becomes easier when using different machines through a consistent interface that includes textile-specific families of pictograms.
Benefits … but for whom? Productivity is increased as well as the quality of work, safety and therefore the well-being of the operator. The design guides the operator and improves and facilitates his work of every day. Structured languages allow, for example, to prevent from errors and help the operator in critical situations. ´I find it very important that the aesthetics materialises in the optimal usability at the workplace. Interactivity, ergonomics, efficiency, and safety become today indispensable values in the world of industrial products and production.´
