Eclat Textile Co., a Taiwan-based garment
and fabric supplier, has reported to suspend the production at its plant in
Vietnam because a few employees were tested Covid positive. According to the
announcement on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, Eclat has suspended production for
four days at its factory in Dong Nai province, south-eastern Vietnam. There has
been a temporary halt in the operations after the plant reported confirmed
COVID-19 cases.
Eclat will also
take tight preventive measures to control the spread of the virus in the plant
and will also watch how the virus is developing in Vietnam. Vietnam has
reported 801 domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases in 11 provinces, as per
the news.
According to the
statistics, Vietnam has recorded 37,434 confirmed COVID-19
cases and 138 deaths. Eclat has confirmed that this four days suspension will
not have an adverse effect on the operations of the company. Also, the
production will be adjusted according to the needs of the market. According to
reports, Nikki and Adidas, have also suspended production of the plant located
in Ho Chi Minh City.
