UK-based SDC awards Texas Tech University’s Prof Ramkumar with Silver Medal

The award was given in recognition of his work in the field of coloration sustainability.

United Kingdom based Society of Dyers and Colourists [SDC], founded in 1884 has awarded Prof Seshadri Ramkumar the Silver Medal for his exceptional work regarding sustainability in coloration field, based on the nanofibre work and cotton for oil absorption.

Dr  Seshadri Ramkumar is a Professor, Nonwovens & Advanced Materials Laboratory  in Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX, USA.

The medal was designated for the year 2020, but due to COVID-19 hiatus, the award ceremonies are being held only this year.

On this achievement, Prof Ramkumar says, “I am profusley grateful for the nominator(s) who considered me worthy of this recognition. “

The Medal Certificate with Royal Charter seal of SDC was sent to Prof Ramkumar on November 10, 2022, officially recognising him with the award.

“It is a 24 year research journey at Texas Tech University and am pleased that along these years, some of my research has been useful with one of the first commercialized patent at TTU, “FiberTect,” decontamination wipe,” adds Prof Ramkumar.
