TK Sengupta elected as President of TAI Central

TK Sengupta is elected as President of The Textile Association (TAI) India, Central, for the term 2017-2019 in the elections during Governing Council Meeting held on February 1, 2018 at Nagpur.

Sengupta has done B.Text Engineering from T.I.T, Bhiwani and a fulltime MBA from FMS, Delhi University having 46 years rich experience in textiles and manmade fibre in marketing, sales, business and strategic planning, export marketing, resource planning, MIS, consultancy and higher management activities.

He has worked with well reputed companies like Reliance Industries as Senior Sales Manager for 10 years, Garware Nylon Ltd as General Manager – Marketing & Development, Indorama Synthetics Ltd as Vice President for Sales & Export marketing, Modern Petrofiles as President for Sales & Export marketing, Modipon Ltd as Technical Service Executive, Fiberglass Pilkington Ltd (FGP), at Senior Management Positions. He was associated with Burlington Glass Fabrics Co (Burlington Industries), USA and Vardhman Spinning & General Mills Ltd as Sales Manager. He retired as President from Modern Petrofils.

Sengupta worked with Yardi Prabhu Consultants & Valuers, one of the largest valuation and consultancy companies as Director, rendering financial, technical, project management, TEV study, lenders independent engineers (LIE), mergers and acquisitions. Presently he is associated with them as Advisor.

Presently, Sengupta is associated with Fibre2Fashion Pvt Ltd, a global B2B portal as an advisor. He is associated with DFU Publications, as Advisor, Global B2B portal and publisher of leading fashion and brands publications. He has presented many papers in important seminars.

He was awarded by the Synthetic and Rayon Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) for highest export of polyester filament yarn from India for 1995-1996 and 1996-1997. He received Certificate of Merit for Second Highest Export to Latin American Countries from ITPO for the period 1998-1999.

Sengupta is actively associated with TAI (India) and involved in organising seminars and conferences held by TAI Mumbai unit and central office very successfully. He has generated enough revenue in national and international conferences organised by TAI Mumbai Unit. He was Vice President of TAI, Mumbai Unit during the period 2015-17 and again unanimously re-elected as Vice President for second term of 2017-2019.
