Why do you think the importance of air engineering in the textile industry has been increasing over the years?
Any form of textile production depends on the interaction of basically three elements: the fibre, the machine and the human being. All three work in common environment and bring their influence to bear on it. Controlling this environment is therefore just as much a part of the process control as the textile process technology itself.
In contrast to other bodies, fibres have an extraordinarily large surface in relation to the mass of the material. Its characteristics have an influence on the characteristics of all fibre formation as fibres react quickly to changes in their environment. Nowadays, with increased focus on quality and productivity, the importance of having a proper air engineering system is even more than before.
What are the special systems and technologies in air engineering you offer and what are their USPs?
Luwa offers the integrated Total Air control system, which covers all aspects and technical requirements relating to air use in textile companies. Basically it comprises of four system modules: air treatment – filtration, mixing, humidifying, cooling and heating, transportation, control: air guidance – distribution, diffusion and extraction; cleaning- blowing, suction, displacement, measurement; and waste handling-transportation, classification, separation, recycling,discharge, compression and bailing.
In the new technology, we have introduced very compact filter known as MCV and new digital and cloud computing technology, which is being used to have the automatic control of all the processes. This is cloud and app-based system and is the latest in technology, which is being introduced worldwide by us and it’s USP is Industry 4.0-ready, and in future it will be helping in self diagnosis of our operating equipments which will provide it’s running characteristics, datas and alarms.
With efficient air engineering, how can be the various aspects like energy saving, quality, productivity improved?
Whether it is spinning, weaving or knitting, whatever combination of raw materials is there, textile air engineering plays a decisive role. In every aspect of air treatment, air conduction, cleaning and waste handling, Luwa being a leader, both in comprehensive systems know-how and in the application of the latest technologies to the air systems, provides solutions with much efficient operational parameters which results ultimately in improvement of overall productivity at optimal power consumption.

What are the prospects in domestic and export markets for the air engineering products?
We are seeing that the awareness about having proper air systems have increased among the non-corporate customers as a result there are good future prospects in weaving clusters like Bhiwandi, Bhilwara and Ichalkaranji. We also envisage that fabric formation getting more systemised after GST and to grow further needing quality systems. Luwa being globally present and having setups in almost major international textile markets, are seeing pragmatic growth prospects especially in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, US and Vietnam.
