Texfab Engineers: Our growth is exceptionally good; we are growing 25 per cent year to year
Texfab Engineers India is known for manufacturing fabric processing machinery and is fully committed to deliver complete solutions to their customers. Today, they are one of the prominent players in the textile sector with upward growth chart. The company offers comprehensive range of fabric processing machinery like steaming, washing, mercerizer, bleaching and varieties of dyeing machines enough to offer customers choice, along with laboratory steaming & dyeing machine in different versions. Mukesh Pachauri, Chairman and Managing Director and Akkshitta Pachauri, Vice Chairman, Texfab Engineers (India), in this interview, shares the innovations in the fabric processing industry.
How do you assess the current state of the fabric processing industry in India, and what key trends are shaping its growth?
Compare to spinning and weaving, there are ample opportunities for textile processing industry. Right now, processing is doing $33 billion of business and which is around 1/3 of spinning. And it being forecasted $54 billion of processing business by end of 2034. So there is very straight indication that business of processing will grow in coming years.
However, in present geo political situation, there are lot of challenges for textile industries. Resilience and innovation will lead for betterment.
Going forward it is very imperative that the success of the processing industry will be based on innovative technology and processing sequence which reduces the energy consumption. I mean energy consumption is with regard to lesser chemical, power, water and steam. As you know processing industries generate lot of effluent as well as consumption of fossil fuel used in generation of steam is big challenge for processing industry.
What are the biggest challenges fabric processors face today—whether in terms of costs, sustainability, or technology adoption?
Margins in fabric processing is very thin. To process the fabric economically and ecologically by achieving norms of the industry is big challenge. There are lot of regulation regard to environment compliance as well as volatile raw material cost and labour/skill shortages are creating problems for processing industries.
These challenges can be addressed only by adopting new technologies which results in production of better fabric with lesser utility cost & lesser man power.
What recent solutions or technologies have you introduced for fabric processing?
We at Texfab offering innovative solutions of processing fabrics and provided reliable solutions against European manufacturer.
Success of our loop steamer is testimony of our engineering and processing know how. We have highest number of installation and have presence worldwide. We have complete solution of machines pre and post sequence for printed fabric
Our soft flows are also gaining its name due to our novel solutions of Nozzle design and automation.
We also offers solution for knitted and woven fabric of open width processing machines for dyeing and preparatory like bleaching, mercerizing and open width washing for dyed and printed fabric.
Recently we have introduced product range for open width scouring and bleaching range, and our first installation of continuous bleaching range giving satisfactory results from day one. Our offer of Continuous bleaching range is having unique design for saturator steam generation, dosing of the chemical and conveyor design for plaiting of the fabric.
At Texfab we have designed and launched 25 processing machines successfully, this is testimony of our expertise of process and engineering. All machines are designed and manufactured at our Surat facility, proudly “Made In India”.
How is Texfab integrating automated solutions into processing equipment?
Before I talk about our product, let me give you insight about thought process on this topic.
First, we always emphasise on modernising our manufacturing set up and upgrade our shop floor with latest equipment to produce world class machines.
We have one of the modern shop floor at our manufacturing facility at surat wherein we have 5 lesser cutting machines. Start from unloading of raw material followed by other sequence of testing of the raw material, cutting, bending and welding we have automated machines.
Now, regarding our machines, we always offer our machines with latest automation. We use one of the best PLC’s and Drives from Mitsubishi and we have our own programs/logic and we have our own panel manufacturing set up at our shop floor.
We have developed our own logic for tension control, close loop dosing and temperature control which results in lesser power, chemical and utility consumption.
How do your machines help Indian processors reduce water, energy, and chemical consumption?
To reduce water, energy and chemical consumption, we successfully offered our designed technologies which are tested and accepted by our valued customer in actual production conditions.
I name few of them as it would not be possible to mention each of them in detail.
Loop steamer: Unique concept like loop generation through steam and by loop rod and pitch distance can be selected depends upon printed fabric are some of our proven concept for loop steamer.
Soft flows: We offer state of the art automation and automatic adjusted liquor flow through PLC to obtain maximum results of fabric dyeing and processing.
Aqua washers: our unique design of nozzle creates more turbulence results in better washing.
Open width washing “Turbo wash”: technology of our liquor circulation and pulsation drum results in vigorous washing without any distortion or uneven tension on processed fabric.
Open width mercerizing: our heavy squeezers designed to reduce residual caustic on fabric and followed by effective washing results in lesser caustic, water and steam consumption.
Open width bleaching: our steamers are equipped with top end steam entry with separate steam generators instead of sump heating which results in lesser steam consumption. We offer unique design of horizontal tight strand at the entry of steamer, so with high pick up of chemical can be achieved without dropping of the chemical with even penetration of bleach chemical results in even bleaching throughout width of fabric. As well as we offer close loop dosing which ensures even concertation of peroxide and caustic throughout process results in lesser chemical consumption and even degree of whiteness throughout length and width of the fabric. Our conveyor belt for plaiting of the fabric is game changer due to less rotatig parts, results in lesser maintenance and down time.
Our locally designed de oiling machine for lycra and polyester fabric also gaining popularity thanks to compact design and effective oil removal by producing fabric in open width.
We also emphasised in automation which results in lesser man power to operate the machine and also ensure repeatability of the processed fabric. Each concept is designed to reduce frequent maintenance. We also use latest geared motors available in world market to reduce power consumption.
Could you share how Texfab Engineers has performed in the past year and which markets or customer segments are driving growth?
Our growth is exceptionally good, we are growing 25 per cent year to year.
We always emphasised first to increase our production set up and necessary machines with tools and tackles before increasing our production by adding new processing machines. Recently we have inaugurated our new shop floor and increased our assembly area by 2500 square meter. We also developed dust free assembly line to assemble state of the art product.
With regard to processing industry, new and fast technologies are coming up in Digital printing. Production capacity of digital printing machines are increasing and also development of pigment dyes for printing will be game changer in coming days.
Looking ahead, what are Texfab’s future plans in terms of product innovation, market expansion, and contribution to India’s textile industry competitiveness?
As I mentioned, we are very strongly placed for pre and post printing machines like loop steamer and efficient aqua washers. We have increased our foot print in dyeing machines by developing soft flows for polyester and cotton fabric.
Our recent installations of open width bleaching, mercerizing and washing has proved that we are in correct track of innovation and offering best of technologies to our Indian Customer.
Our mission is to offer flawless machines which provide economical, ecological and excellent fabric results.
