Hyderabad

KT Rama Rao, IT and Industries Minister,
Government of Telangana, has launched a request for Piyush Goyal, Union
Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, to set the first
National Design Centre (NDC) in Hyderabad.

A representation was submitted to the
minister so as to extend financial support to establish Kakatiya Mega Textiles
Park in Waranga. A DPR was also submitted for setting up the National Design Centre, which indicates the activities
that will be undertaken to make the centre self-sustaining. It is believed that
the state government will support a 50% deficit in operational funds till the
centre becomes self-reliant.  This
cost-sharing scheme by the state government is apart from the 30 acres of land
that is provided free of cost to the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology
(NIAB) in Gopanpally.

According to the minister, it has been
decided by the Telangana government that it will set-up a large-scale textile
park at Warangal which will be spread over 2000 acres. He also said that the
state government has taken environmental clearance for the park.
