Techtextil attracts huge traffic

Techtextil India 2015 brought together an array of distinguished exhibitors and key decision makers from the entire Technical Textile and Nonwoven Industry. With more than 150 companies demonstrating its top products and innovative concepts, the 2015 edition turned out be a phenomenal success.

Techtextil India 2015 brought together an array of distinguished exhibitors and key decision makers from the entire Technical Textile and Nonwoven Industry. With more than 150 companies demonstrating its top products and innovative concepts, the 2015 edition turned out be a phenomenal success.

For three consecutive days Techtextil India converted into a profitable business arena for the industry heads and end users. The show has set the industry abuzz for its upcoming edition on the 15-17 September 2017 at Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East).

Textile commissioner Kiran Soni Gupta inaugurated the three-day Techtextil India exhibition for the technical textiles and non-woven industry in Mumbai. Addressing the media and industry at the inauguration of this prime business event which hosts more than 150 exhibitors from India and abroad, Gupta said: Technical Textile is at a promising growth stage and expected to grow at a rate of 20 per cent annually to touch $30 billion over the the next five years.´

Speaking on the visitors´ turnaround for Techtextil event, Michael Jaenecke, Director, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH, Germany,´The visitor figures are extremely good. If you pass the booths, you can see there are a lot of discussions taking place, which is a good sign.´

He also gave a complete SWOT analysis on the Indian technical textiles industry. He said: ´There are a lot of changes that have spurt the industry for a much much longer period. Launching of Centres of Excellence (COEs) is a good step for connecting producers as well as consumers to develop new materials according to specifications and regulations. Necessary steps to invest is being taken care of. Weakness is that some of the Indian companies have still not reached international levels. A new business sometime takes some time to develop. Another major weakness is the marketing because technical textiles cannot be sold as a catalogue. In technical textiles, we have customised products. Many technical textile companies come and develop products together, so this requires marketing. But this will take some time. This is just a challenge, but this is a challenge for everybody.´
