WACKER POLYMERS is to raise its prices for dispersible polymer powders of the VINNAPAS®, VINNACEL® and ETONIS® brand. Effective November 1, 2017, prices will be increased by 7 per cent, or as customer contracts allow. This measure has been necessitated by the continued increase in costs.

Wacker Chemie AG is expanding its existing production plants for polymeric binders in Germany. The Munich-based chemical group is currently building another dispersion reactor with an annual capacity of 60,000 metric tonne at its Burghausen site. Some €25 million have been earmarked for production and local-infrastructure expansion.
Peter Summo is taking over as president of WACKER POLYMERS effective October 1, 2016. He is succeeding Arno von der Eltz, who is retiring on this date. He previously headed the engineering silicones business unit at WACKER SILICONES. Summo studied business administration in Augsburg, Germany. He subsequently worked at Akzo Nobel – a producer of specialty chemicals – in the area of product marketing, before joining WACKER in 1995.
Wacker Polymers is to raise its prices for vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer (VAE) dispersions of the VINNAPAS® brand in the Americas region.
WACKER POLYMERS is to raise its prices for vinyl acetate-ethylene and ethylene-vinyl chloride-based copolymer dispersions of the VINNAPAS® and VINNOL® brand in the Americas region. As customer contracts allow, effective June 15, 2016, prices will be raised by up to five per cent. This measure has been necessitated by the increase in raw-material costs, especially for vinyl acetate monomer (VAM), a crucial raw material for the manufacturing of WACKER’s dispersions.
