The textile industry has expressed shock and anguish over the withdrawal of four per cent incentive given under the Merchandise Export Incentive Scheme (MEIS) on made-ups and garments, with retrospective effect from March 7, 2019.
The Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari has approved the changes in the Interest Subvention Scheme for MSMEs, in a meeting held on December 16, 2019 to review the functioning of the scheme.
